Just sneaking a look at the stats whilst at work and we had 84 tackles to their 55.
Was the intensity at the footy strong and more importantly was it consistent through the match? Looks like a great win by the boys. |

if they keep tackling like that ..they won't lose too many matches..... _________________ When people don't like you, it saves a lot of time and effort. You don't have to pretend to be nice to them..........(sam newman. nov.2009)

Tackles cause turn overs , catches teams off guard then creates scoring opportunities which suits our type of game.To see them deliver it for 4 quarters is very pleasing . Now this is a positive post , can I be classed as a true supporter now? |

| Lethal was saying that the team that tackles more usually wins, as tackling signifies effort and tackling is a consious choice and usually the other stuff will just fall into place. |

| Not only happy that the tackling was good tonight, but that we had numbers there to take advantage of the loose balls. A game where I am almost tempted to re-assess my RL hatred especially since it was vs the Crows with whom we usually have terribly dour matches. |

Yep, tackling is a pretty underrated statistic really. It's a pretty good reflection on the intense and aggressive brand of footy they are currently playing. _________________ The Saints are looking prettay...prettay...prettay...PRETTY GOOD! |

Awesome yes, it certainly tired the boys but such an effort....I just LOVE their endeavour, they truly played intense footy until the final siren. I am emotionally exhausted _________________ I use to say that I believed Jimmy could be a part of our best 22, now he believes... |

Adelaides obsession with flipping it around by hand played right into our hands. Rarely did they get more than a couple of handpasses away without the reciever getting tackled, or often gang tackled. _________________

Riccuttio (spelling) said om mmm that it was the best pressure he had seen from a St Kilda side. Thats good enough for me. _________________ BJ has arrived!!!!!!!!!!

Any praise on hardness from the Adelaide Roo is not to be taken lightly I agree.
Good thing was that we came out in the 4th and lifted our intensity from the 3rd. Players seem to beleive that tackling and preassure is as important as Ross is telling them. This is a good sign.
I liked the vision from during the week where Ross said if you find yourself down on the tackling Shepards and smothers then your spot in the side will be under preassure. _________________ Maybe this year? |

I think the last 2 games have probably proven his point. |

yeas the tackling pressure was bloody brilliant.
just watched a whole replay and looked at that a fair bit.
lots of pressure and hard work
they ran the game out well too.
with 13 and a half mins left we had 69 tackles
so we had what ? 15 tackle s in the last (nearly) 14 mins
great way to run out the game

88 takles this week - a club record
74 odd takles last week
looks like they're sticking the takles nowadays. didn't we have some ju-jitsu specialist teach our boys takling technique a year or two ago? seems like it was a good investment. _________________ "The line 'I'm a mad St Kilda supporter' is one of life's great tautologies, because sanity has never been a requisite to follow the fortunes of the red, white and black" |

| It helps when everyone is contributing to the effort. Last year it was normal for a third of our tackles to come from Hayes and Ball every week. Last night we had 22 players applying them. |
