Maybe you are right. There are however protocols in place regarding bans and warnings, which were followed. Are you saying the moderators should pick and choose?

My vote is no. Not 'trigger happy' as such, just more inconsistent than anything.
Which is what you will get with different mods and different personalities and different ways of handling things. I would be different too.
Thankless task they have. We are all open to criticism though. |

While I'm fully aware that saying yes in this thread is akin to giving my permission to be shot down like a fish in a barrel...nevertheless Im saying yes.
My reasons are this..
I feel that adults should be able to put their case to the Mods and be listened to.
There only needs to be 3 rules in this place IMO.
1. Dont get personal.
2. Dont get abusive
3. Dont be too small to apologise if you're wrong.
Everyone should be treated the same but unfortunately they're not and abuse is still alive and well over on the football forum.
It goes on almost daily and yet nothing is done about it.
Is everyone treated the same in here? I say not.
A month's suspension is far too long...it is ridiculous.
There are better ways to do things...and I say this with the greatest respect to Saintsational...a place Ive always loved.
My vote is yes. |

I have never been involved with any forum, besides this one, which bans users for a month.
Most forums will, once a user breaks the rules a pre-determined number of times, impose a permanent ban.
In comparison, a month long suspension is ridiculously lenient.

| Also Krabb, I say again, gazrat could have easily avoided a ban....he defied an earlier suspension and posted in the general forum and then bragged about it.....we pm'd him telling him it wasn't on, he lauged and did it again.....What exactly did he expect? |

Yes I'm fully aware that Saintsational has a system of warnings and bannings and i must admit i havent read ALL the rules in place in Saintsational.
What is a pre-determined number of times?
Is it 3 warnings and then a months suspension? How does it work?
Isnt there another way to do things?
Look ive been both sides of the fence and i know firsthand that you're damned if you do and damned if you dont...but that doesnt change whats been going on over on the main forum...so i come back to my point of not everyone gets treated the same in here.
If there are rules to be followed then it must apply to all....or its just not working battye.

3 more warnings and a month ban.
3 more warnings and a permanent ban is something resembling the guidelines we work within.
And these posters haven't been treated harshly, the 4 that are banned from the general forum have probably been treated with a fraction more leniency if anything at all, but certainly not more harshly. As I said if we followed the letters to a tee, Stinger would have probably copped 6 or 7 bans. and be gone for good, similar to Grumps etc. |

And not just stinger. Probably most of us would have copped a ban of some sort if the forum rules were slavishly followed.
I think it is a bit rich not to allow the mods some discretion, otherwise there would be tumbleweeds rolling through this and the footy forum.

I've heard differing things, would love to know the real story, if you could PM that would be great...
Have heard it was multiple user names hence the lifetime ban... Please fill me in
Have heard it is in GF week, well im sure we were all a bit upset...
If it was for abuse of other users... I have seen others abusing people and theyre still around...
If it is fair points, that know one knows about then you should point out the exact reason and i wont bring it up... I know youre not big fans of him, but a personal thing against one person because you are in charge isnt the fairest way.
By the way, he is a genuine saint and not a troll like another person had suggested...
and regarding the swearing... There are more than just me that swear |
